Western Nebraska Housing Opportunities

Western Nebraska Housing Opportunities (WNHO) assists low to moderate-income households in obtaining safe, decent, sanitary, and affordable housing options in Western Nebraska.

WNHO specifically offers Down Payment Assistance to help income-qualified households at or below 120% of the Average median income to purchase a home. Since 2004, WNHO has helped 304 families with closing costs assistance to purchase a home.

WNHO also buys vacant, run-down properties with our Purchase, Rehab, Resale Program. WNHO buys the property, brings it up to standard, and sells the home to an income-qualified family. This helps families obtain homeownership, cleans up unsightly houses in our neighborhoods, and helps keep the community looking nice.

WNHO also has a Rental Rehab Program that has been used to buy vacant run-down properties that can be converted to multi-family rental housing units. These units are clean, decent units that are rented to income-qualified households at affordable rental rates.
